iRetina SBSettings Theme Updated To V1.5 Post from: FSMdotCOM A few days ago we told you about a beautiful SBSettings theme available in Cydia called iRetina. iPhoDroid For Windows Delayed

news August 30th, 2010

iPhoDroid For Windows Delayed Post from: FSMdotCOM A couple of days ago we told you that iPhoDroid is finally coming to Windows and that it will be released, well… today. But, that was just an ETA, and the release was delayed. Sergio Mcfly, the dev of iPhDroid, explains why: Well, it’s almost midnight and I know tons of people are awaiting for iPhoDroid PC release. I got a big delay today caused by 64bit Windows7 architecture, once its tough to get pass over DLL running without Certificate. But the good news is: I made it through an Internal Procedure and no Installation is required. Windows XP and Vista 32bit run the App all the way up in one single click (the same as 1SHOT for Mac). So, I encourage you to be a little bit patient and I really need a few hours more to get it finished to run on fine over 64 AMD and Intel. Keep in holding everyone, A lot of dedication still being imperative and the Installer is on the way. Apology.

iPhoneography: Rolling Shutter Effect On Airplane Propellers

iphone 4, news August 29th, 2010

iPhoneography: Rolling Shutter Effect On Airplane Propellers Post from: FSMdotCOM In the early 20th century, the photograph still seemed new. The German intellectual Walter Benjamin tried to understand how photography changed art: it replaced the “aura” of the masterpiece with a new, democratic way of making pictures. Going on for a century later, we’re living in the midst of a technological revolution that has left photography itself behind. Latest trend: iPhoneography. There’s a lot of video and photo apps that you can use to pimp up your iPhone pics, but it turns out that you can achieve great effects just by pointing a cellphone camera at a fast moving object, in this case , airplane propellers. The effect you see in the pics above is known as ‘rolling shutter’. As Flickr user Jason Mullins explains, [I shot this with] an iPhone 4, and the scanning typically goes from top left to bottom right so moving objects lean to the left. Essentially any electronic shutter camera (i.e. not an SLR like mechanical shutter) will give these effects. Wikipedia has some good articles here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_shutter For those who want to try this out, just point your simple electronic shutter camera at an object moving parallel to you, preferably fast, and take the photo. The faster the relative speed between you, the more the distortion. Rotating objects go really weird! Thanks to Rob Sheridan for the pics and vid. You can check out his amazing Flickr stream here , and you can also follow him on twitter . [ via Core77]

Auto3G: Extend Your iPhone’s Battery Life By Automatically Turning Off 3G When You Don’t Need It

Cydia, news August 29th, 2010

Auto3G: Extend Your iPhone’s Battery Life By Automatically Turning Off 3G When You Don’t Need It Post from: FSMdotCOM New day, new app in Cydia: Auto3G. Auto3G extends your battery life by automatically turning off the 3G radio ( leaving on the 2G radio ) when you lock your iPhone and automatically turning on the 3G radio when you unlock your iPhone. This way you always have the speed of 3G when you need it without the battery loss. As explained by Apple, this results in up to 100% greater battery life: ’7 hours of talk time on 3G, 14 hours of talk time on 2G’. NOTE: Requires an iPhone with 3G. You can buy Auto3G from Cydia Store for $5.00 via BigBoss repo…
