The problem with Wi-Fi reception appears when the device is held snugly in landscape orientation with two hands, a position common when playing games or using the widescreen keyboard, which is being referred to as the “death hug.” It should be noted that although early Apple-sanctioned reviews of the Verizon iPhone 4 claimed that the antenna problems had been fixed in the CDMA model, the same reviewers failed to notice the antenna problems in their original coverage of the GSM model. Once again, use of a protective case appears to fix the antenna issue, and antenuation may not be noticeable in areas with stronger signal strength. AT&T Responds To Verizon With A New iPhone Ad [video] Post from: FSMdotCOM Yesterday  Verizon released their first iPhone 4 ad , where they basically say that now, you can finally place calls on your iPhone . Today, AT&T responds with their own ad saying that only AT&T’s network lets your iPhone talk and surf at the same time. In this Network spot, a man is working late in his office when he receives a call from his wife. When she asks about the plans for their anniversary that night, a frantic look crosses his face as he realizes he has forgotten the big night. Mid-call, he is able to pull up the browser of his iPhone and search for restaurants. Playing it cool, he talks up the night’s plans while making the reservations from his phone. The ad feels a little bit ‘rushed’, but it will be fun to assist at this AT&T vs Verizon ‘war’. See the ad after the jump…

Well, here’s a nifty trick on how to get a discount using a @facebook.com email address. The best part is that, this ‘trick’ works for both AT&T and Verizon plans. Facebook has just been rolling out their “new messages” service which gives every Facebook user an e-mail address ending in @facebook.com. You can opt-in to this service right now but eventually it wil be rolled out to everyone (takes a few days to get an invite if you request one). This used to be Facebook’s corporate e-mail domain, but they switched all their employees to @fbmail.com so that users can now get their own e-mail address. Once you get your @facebook.com email address, got to this address and put in your email address, and you will get a 12% service discount with AT&T ( this includes the 2GB data plan and all of the voice plans ). Existing Verizon Customers Can Pre-Order The iPhone 4 Starting Tomorrow Post from: FSMdotCOM Apple today  announced that it will be joining Verizon in offering pre-orders of the new Verizon iPhone to existing Verizon customers as of tomorrow. The company also announced that all other customers can begin ordering the Verizon iPhone for delivery or in-store pickup beginning next Wednesday, February 9th, although handsets won’t be available for pickup until the following day. Apple’s retail stores will open at 7:00 AM on Thursday, February 10th to allow customers to purchase the Verizon iPhone, with Verizon’s 2,000 retail stores also offering availability. Existing Verizon Customers Can Pre-Order The iPhone 4 Starting Tomorrow

Scosche unveiled the new flipSYNC II at CES a few weeks back. It has announced that the iPhone and iPad specific version of the cable is now available for about $20; the new versions have full size connectors. AT&T has unveiled that it has had 4.1 million iPhones activated in Q4 2010. It also noted that 442,000 iPads and other tablets were activated as well. Motorola has acknowledged that its sales have slumped . The slump is in anticipation of the iPhone hitting Verizon and started in December before the official announcement was made.
