AT&T Responds To Verizon With A New iPhone Ad [video]

AT&T Responds To Verizon With A New iPhone Ad [video] Post from: FSMdotCOM Yesterday  Verizon released their first iPhone 4 ad , where they basically say that now, you can finally place calls on your iPhone . Today, AT&T responds with their own ad saying that only AT&T’s network lets your iPhone talk and surf at the same time. In this Network spot, a man is working late in his office when he receives a call from his wife. When she asks about the plans for their anniversary that night, a frantic look crosses his face as he realizes he has forgotten the big night. Mid-call, he is able to pull up the browser of his iPhone and search for restaurants. Playing it cool, he talks up the night’s plans while making the reservations from his phone. The ad feels a little bit ‘rushed’, but it will be fun to assist at this AT&T vs Verizon ‘war’. See the ad after the jump…

HOW TO: Get A Discount On Your AT&T/Verizon iPhone Plan Using A Facebook eMail Address

AT&T, facebook, news, verizon February 3rd, 2011

HOW TO: Get A Discount On Your AT&T/Verizon iPhone Plan Using A Facebook eMail Address Post from: FSMdotCOM Tired to pay too much for your iPhone bill? Well, here’s a nifty trick on how to get a discount using a @facebook.com email address. The best part is that, this ‘trick’ works for both AT&T and Verizon plans. Facebook has just been rolling out their “new messages” service which gives every Facebook user an e-mail address ending in @facebook.com. You can opt-in to this service right now but eventually it wil be rolled out to everyone (takes a few days to get an invite if you request one). This used to be Facebook’s corporate e-mail domain, but they switched all their employees to @fbmail.com so that users can now get their own e-mail address. Once you get your @facebook.com email address, got to this address and put in your email address, and you will get a 12% service discount with AT&T ( this includes the 2GB data plan and all of the voice plans ). We’re not sure about the exact way to activate this with Verizon , but if you’ll figure it out, you’ll get a 13% discount at Verizon on service and unlimited data (no discount on messaging or the 150MB data plan). NOTE: if you’re having issues receiving the e-mail on Facebook once you’ve activated your Facebook e-mail address, you will need to: go into your privacy settings, then click View Settings for Connecting on Facebook. From there set “Send you messages” to everyone. You can then set up your FAN account and change it back right after that. [ via macrumors]

Quirky Digits makes gloves touchscreen friendly, iGo gear at CES, AT&T adds WiFi coverage

AT&T, news December 28th, 2010

Working your iPhone with gloves on is impossible unless you have gloves specifically made for working touchscreens. If your favorite gloves are not made for touchscreens you can turn them into touchscreen gloves with some cool new pins from Quirky called Digits for $14. iGo has announced that it will be showing off new gear at CES 2011. The gear will include a pocket projector that fits smartphones like the iPhone and a charge cable that is small enough for your key ring called KeyJuice. AT&T has beefed up its WiFi Hot Zones to provide users in Times Square and San Francisco more free coverage for WiFi. The WiFi data use won’t count against you monthly allotments and is offered free of charge to subscribers.

HOW TO: Spot An Unlockable iPhone 3Gs Before You Buy It

AT&T, ios, iOS 4.1, news October 6th, 2010

HOW TO: Spot An Unlockable iPhone 3Gs Before You Buy It Post from: FSMdotCOM This just in: our AT&T ninja just sent us a picture of a regular old iPhone 3Gs box… or is it? Notice something different about it? That’s right, the one on the right has the GameCenter icon displayed right on the box. That means that iPhone 3Gs comes pre-installed with iOS 4.1 , therefore no jailbreak and no unlock at the moment. If you’re on the hunt for an unlockable iPhone 3Gs, you should ask your local AT&T stores for old stocks, or maybe just browse for a box without the GameCenter icon on it. We doubt you can do this at the Apple Store, but it’s not always what you know, but who you know. For all of you international folks, same rule apply… Tweet

Walt Mossberg: Despite The Exposed Antenna, The iPhone 4 Does Better Than The 3Gs [video]

Apple, AT&T, iPhone, iphone 4, news, Reviews July 29th, 2010

Walt Mossberg: Despite The Exposed Antenna, The iPhone 4 Does Better Than The 3Gs [video] Post from: FSMdotCOM Walt Mossberg, personal technology columnist for the Wall Street Journal, tested the iPhone 4 for six weeks and came to the conclusion that although i4′s voice call capabilities could’ve been better handled, the devices still does better than its predecessor, the iPhone 3Gs. He also said that the ‘death grip’ is not such a serious issue. It does make the i4 drop bars yes, but it’s not dropping calls. Despite the hot-spot issue and the exposed antenna, the iPhone 4 does better than the 3GS for me in decent coverage. But I still wouldn

YouTube HTML5 site for iPhone, AT&T throttling is network defect, iPhone 4 signal won

apps, AT&T, firmware, news July 8th, 2010

The lack of support for Flash on Apple devices is infamous. YouTube has now launched a new mobile site for the iPhone and iPad that is made with HTML5. Some iPhone 4 users have been reporting significantly decreased upload speed sin some areas. AT&T has announced that a defect in its network is causing the issue and not a change in how it throttles the iPhone. We had heard that a new firmware was coming that would address the poor signal that some users of the iPhone 4 complain of. Apple has now stated that the reception issues with the iPhone 4 are a hardware problem and won’t be fixed with software . The software will only fix the bar display to show accurately.
