Two new iPhone commercials, NOAA adopts iPhone, ATT talks 2GB throttling

AT&T, iPhone, news, upgrade February 10th, 2012

Apple has started to run a pair of new commercials for iPhone 4S. Both of the commercials focus on Siri and show off some the things the voice assistant can do. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration otherwise has NOAA has moved to the iPhone and iPad. The migration to the iPhone was away from RIM devices. If you’re one of the many they were concerned about the 2GB data throttling of the unlimited data plans of AT&T, you aren’t alone. AT&T is now trying to explain that throttling a bit and still maintains that would only affect top 5% of users.

T-Mobile improves support for iPhone and Samsung suit booted from court

iPhone, news, T-Mobile January 30th, 2012

T-Mobile doesn’t officially sell the iPhone on its network, but has more than 1 million unlocked iPhones operating on its networks despite the fact. The catch is that the unlocked iPhones operating on the T-Mobile network don’t work that well according to most users. The reason is that the iPhones operating on the network only have access to T-Mobile’s old 2G network, because they lack the support for T-Mobile’s 3G spectrum. The good news for iPhone users on T-Mobile is that the carrier is planning to improve the support for iPhones starting on January 30, which is today. The carrier is adding a special iPhone support page, which will help iPhone users that need assistance. Alas, the phones was still be only 2G capable. Last week Samsung saw its second 3G patent suit against Apple rejected by the courts. The suit in question was in German courts, the judge Andreas Voss rejected Samsung claims without a clear explanation of why. I would imagine Apple doesn’t really care why, it’s just glad the claims are rejected. I doubt this is the last time we hear of lawsuits between Samsung and Apple.

iPhone/iPad App Review – Smash Cops

apps, Featured Posts, Games, iPad, iPad Applications, iPhone, iPhone Applications, news, Reviews, smash cops January 26th, 2012

Smash Cops is a brilliant idea. It’s based on those thousands of police pursuit-type TV shows that feature nothing but the cops chasing down a suspect, all shot from a police helicopter.  They’re trash of the highest order, but compelling and exciting trash nonetheless.  Making a game using that exact formula is inspired, and Smash

Wooden iPhone kits, Apple china launch poorly planned, Apple Q1 sales boom

iPhone, news January 25th, 2012

If you have dropped your iPhone, cracked the back glass, and want to fix it with something that might last longer, one of these wooden back kits might be just what you need. The kit will fit the iPhone 4 and 4S and you can see how to install here . Apple’s CEO has admitted that it planned poorly for the iPhone 4S launch in China. The demand and short supply is said to be what sparked near riots in China. There have been shortages in other countries that haven’t led to egg throwing and abused Apple workers so I hardly think this is at Apple’s feet alone. Apple offered up its Q1 2012 financial figures yesterday and sales for the company were gigantic. The company posted $24 billion in revenue for the iPhone and related products and services.
