MiTime: Enable FaceTime On T-Mobile And Other Unsupported Carriers [video]

T-Mobile, facetime, ios 4, iphone 4, news August 27th, 2010

MiTime: Enable FaceTime On T-Mobile And Other Unsupported Carriers [video] Post from: FSMdotCOM The developer of PushFix has released a new app called MiTime which activates FaceTime on phones that are operating on unofficial carriers such as T-Mobile US. It should work worldwide and will use two SMS messages to activate. You must be able to receive an international SMS message to get activated ( If you have any doubt, please use this site to test whether you can receive a message from the UK – the default setting ). MiTime costs $5.99 but, unfortunately, new sales are suspended until a new version of the app comes out. For more info, visit the official website …

How To: Change Your FaceTime Name

facetime, iPhone, iphone 4, news August 19th, 2010

How To: Change Your FaceTime Name Post from: FSMdotCOM Bored with “FaceTime” calls? Not the FaceTime its self, but want to spice up what its called? Maybe some HammerTime? You’ll need to SSH in (I like YummyFTP) or use something like PhoneView and a text editor. Just edit these files: /System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBookUI.framework/English.lproj/vc~AB.strings /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Conference.framework/English.lproj/vc~Conference.strings /private/var/stash/Applications/Preferences.app/English.lproj/vc~Restrictions.strings And change out anything that says FaceTime to what ever you want to call it. You can even call it FSMTime..you get my drift. Don’t forget to back up those stock files, incase something goes wrong.

FaceTime Mod: Increase Or Decrease FaceTime Call Quality

Cydia, facetime, news August 11th, 2010

FaceTime Mod: Increase Or Decrease FaceTime Call Quality Post from: FSMdotCOM New day, new app in Cydia: FaceTime Mod. This tweak changes the FPS for FaceTime for better quality over WiFi or 3G. This allows for better quality FPS if your connection ( WiFi ) can handle it. It can also decrease the FPS if you use FaceTime over 3G/EDGE Original FPS: Min – 15 Max – 15 Modified FPS Min – 6 Max – 30 You won’t need to manually increase or decrease FPS. It will be done automatically, because the tweak analyzes how many FPS can your current ( at the time of call ) network can handle. NOTE: it only works if both iPhones ( yours and the one you call ) have this tweak installed NOTE: to use FaceTime over 3G you can use My3G or 3G Unrestrictor To install this patch, add repo: http://repo.modyouri.com

Email-Based FaceTime Support in iOS 4.1 Beta 3. iPod Touch And iPad To Get A Front Facing Camera?

facetime, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, news August 6th, 2010

Email-Based FaceTime Support in iOS 4.1 Beta 3. iPod Touch And iPad To Get A Front Facing Camera? Post from: FSMdotCOM Apple pushed iOS 4.1 beta 3 to developers earlier this week , and today, MacRumors found a feature that offers the strongest evidence yet that the company is planning to roll out FaceTime video calling functionality to future non-iPhone devices based on the iOS operating system. A new option in the iOS “Contacts” application allows users to make FaceTime calls using either a phone number or an email address. This would allow FaceTime compatibility with devices not associated with a phone number such as future camera-enabled iPads and iPod touches.

My3G Gets Updated And Allows FaceTime Calls Over 3G

Cydia, facetime, news August 2nd, 2010

My3G Gets Updated And Allows FaceTime Calls Over 3G Post from: FSMdotCOM My3G is a useful tweak that makes apps believe that they are on WiFi instead of 3G. My3G was updated and now supports FaceTime calls. Yes, we can make FaceTime calls over 3G and not just WiFi as Apple/AT&T wants us to. You can find My3G in Cydia and/or RockApp. If you install it via Cydia , it will still have RockApp dependency, which you can remove via SSH if it bothers you.

The answer is yes, you can make video calls using FaceTime while on a commercial flight. The iPhone 4 unlock has gone official .
