Google+ has clearly become the primary social network for many of its users, and chances are they’ve migrated across from other similar sites, which presents a problem if they want to upload all their existing pictures to their Google+ profile.  Of course, there’s the good old-fashioned way of doing so individually, but depending on the

Friendthem iPhone App Turn People You Meet In Real Life Into Facebook Friends [video]

app, App Store, facebook, ios, iPhone, news June 17th, 2011

Whether you meet someone at a bar, in the park or at a conference, friending that person on Facebook or following them on Twitter or Foursquare is now a common social norm. But the process of actually finding and sending a friend request can be complicated, thanks to the sheer number of people on Facebook. Searching for a common name like “Jason Smith” can yield dozens of results. If a users hasn’t shared their photos with non-friends, or updated their location recently, tracking that person down can be difficult. So people who want to connect on Facebook can use Friendthem as kind of a hybrid meeting place. You get to control what information about yourself is shared with others. You choose whether your name or photo is displayed. You can decide to show off your hometown, or not. Other users that have Friendthem installed and are close by can then see you in the app, and choose to initiate a friend request now or later. Friendthem is available for free in the app store … PS: you can also friend us on Facebook … [ via ]

Facebook iPhone photo app leak, Apple loses key exec, Apple bans app for storing pass codes

app, facebook, news June 15th, 2011

Photos and a little bit of information on a new Facebook photo sharing app has leaked . The app looks interesting, more details may come tomorrow after the claimed 50MB of photos and details are waded through. Apple executive Ron Johnson was the guy that came up with the idea for the Genius Bar in Apple retail stores. He has left Apple for JC Penny taking some of Apple’s mojo with him. Apple has banned an app from the App Store that was storing the user’s iPhone pass codes. The app was called Big Brother Security and was supposed to snap a pic of people that tried to enter your iPhone code and did it wrong.

HOW TO: Get A Discount On Your AT&T/Verizon iPhone Plan Using A Facebook eMail Address

AT&T, facebook, news, verizon February 3rd, 2011

HOW TO: Get A Discount On Your AT&T/Verizon iPhone Plan Using A Facebook eMail Address Post from: FSMdotCOM Tired to pay too much for your iPhone bill? Well, here’s a nifty trick on how to get a discount using a @facebook.com email address. The best part is that, this ‘trick’ works for both AT&T and Verizon plans. Facebook has just been rolling out their “new messages” service which gives every Facebook user an e-mail address ending in @facebook.com. You can opt-in to this service right now but eventually it wil be rolled out to everyone (takes a few days to get an invite if you request one). This used to be Facebook’s corporate e-mail domain, but they switched all their employees to @fbmail.com so that users can now get their own e-mail address. Once you get your @facebook.com email address, got to this address and put in your email address, and you will get a 12% service discount with AT&T ( this includes the 2GB data plan and all of the voice plans ). We’re not sure about the exact way to activate this with Verizon , but if you’ll figure it out, you’ll get a 13% discount at Verizon on service and unlimited data (no discount on messaging or the 150MB data plan). NOTE: if you’re having issues receiving the e-mail on Facebook once you’ve activated your Facebook e-mail address, you will need to: go into your privacy settings, then click View Settings for Connecting on Facebook. From there set “Send you messages” to everyone. You can then set up your FAN account and change it back right after that. [ via macrumors]
