Nissan of all companies has rolled out a new case for the iPhone called the Nissan Scratch Shield . Any scratches to the case will be self-healed thanks to a special gel-like finish. The new Renew SleepClock for the iPhone will be coming this March for $199. The clock has sensors for monitoring user breathing and movement to log your sleep cycle. The Navy is thinking about using iOS devices to allow control of its drone RoboCopters. Having flown toy helicopters that use iOS devices fro control, I hope the Navy has better apps.

Card.io mobile payments use an app to take a photo of your credit card and submit the data to websites that use their SDK. The credit card information is deleted after you submit it for payment. comScore published the numbers for iPhone data use percentage for non-computer devices. The iPhone was behind Android with 23.5% in the US but beat Android in the UK with 29.9% of traffic

A patent app has surfaced that outlines a new Apple system that would integrate IR tech with the camera inside an iPhone. The tech would be able to stop people from taking pics of some things and give more details about things viewed though the camera like museum exhibits. The iShuttr case will turn your iPhone into a point and shoot camera. The case has a shutter button, internal battery, and a bright flash. The case is seeking funding right now on Kickstarter. AT&T has been dropping hints that shared data plans might be in the near future. AT&T CEO would not elaborate on the timeline for the shared plan.

A Japanese research firm announced recently that Android was ahead of the iPhone in market share in Japan. However, Apple is the most popular smartphone brand in the country. A driver left his truck in the driveway running to warm up with his iPhone on the front seat. A thief came by and took the truck and the owner used the iPhone GPS to track the phone and led police to the vehicle and it was recovered.
