25 billion App Store downloads, Apple creates 514K US jobs, Iddiction app

Apple has announced that it is now passed 25 billion downloads from the App Store. Whoever the lucky person was that downloaded that 25 billionth app will get a $10,000 App Store gift card. Apple has been bragging that it has created 514,000 jobs within the United States. The announcement comes after Apple has been taking heat for sending too many jobs outside the country. An interesting new app has landed on the App Store that is a daily deal app for apps called Iddicition . The app is sort of like an app of the day model that looks for the best apps around him.

Nightline tours Apple facility, Safari user sues Google, Facebook makes iOS integration easier

Last night ABC’s news program Nightline aired its tour of the Foxconn facilities for the iPad and iPhone are built. Apparently, the competition for positions at the factory is fierce and iPhone takes 141 construction steps. One Safari user has filed suit against Google over alleged privacy violations. The suit stems from recent report that Google was bypassing Safari privacy settings and tracking users. Facebook has announced improvements to make it easier for iOS app integration. The change allows native iPhone and iPad applications to get traffic from Facebook.

iOS 5.1 rumor, Apple Store protests, Siri may get additional languages

A new rumor is floating around that iOS 5.1 is close to the public launch. The rumor claims that March 9 is when we will see the next version of iOS surface. Apple stores across the world are facing possible demonstrations against allegedly poor labor ethics. Apple’s manufacturing partners in China have faced a lot of bad press for allegedly poor work environments in factories building Apple devices. Siri is rumored to be getting support for new languages . The new languages rumored to be coming include Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Russian language.

iOS Epson projection app, 64GB iPhone 4 doing well, 500k iPhone 4S users jailbreak

Epson has launched a new iProjection iOS app that allows the iPhone and other devices to wirelessly project to Epson projectors. That means you can give a presentation with nothing but your iPhone and the projector. A new survey of recent iPhone 4S buyers has found that 21% are opting for the 64GB version. The survey also found a significant percentage of them are coming from other operating systems. So far, a half million iPhone 4S users have taken advantage of the new 4S jailbreak . The jailbreak was a long time coming since the A5 processor was so hard to crack.

Apple market cap hits $400B, Samsung patent suit shot down, Corona A5 tool

For a little while this week Apple was worth a staggering $400 billion in market cap . That massive number put Apple as a company worth more than Greece and several other small countries. Samsung’s first patent suit over 3G tech against Apple has been shot down in Germany. The suit centered on alleged Apple infringement on 3G/UMTS patents that Samsung owns. A new jailbreak tool for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is incoming. The tool is called the Coronal A5 tool and it will let the user hack their device with the A5 processor inside.

China 4S launch gets violent, Apple fueled clash with delays, NASA mars app

The launch of the iPhone 4S in China was a big deal and drew huge crowds to get the new smartphone. The Apple Store in Sanlitun decided the crowd was too large and opted to not open due to fear of customers and employees being hurt. That led to some in the crowd “abusing” store workers. After the Chinese launch issues that went on at the iPhone 4S launch with eggs thrown and violence one analyst said the violence was in part Apples fault . Canalys’ Nicole Peng said that Chinese fans don’t want to have to wait for new gadgets. NASA has launched a cool new app for the iPhone. The app is called Mars Images and shares photos from the Opportunity rover as soon as NASA gets them.
