iOS Gamers will have the new video game they can download and check out as they hand out candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Borderlands Legends has been confirmed to come to iOS devices on October 31. Rather than being a traditional first-person shooter like the franchise is famous for, Borderland Legends will be a top-down shooter. The players will also be leading all of the game characters at one time rather than playing as a single player. The player will fight against waves of enemies in randomized missions. The game will cost five dollars for the iPhone and seven dollars for the iPad. Just as we find out that Borderland Legends is coming to the iPhone, we also learned that the Apple App Store has reached a significant milestone. Since the App Store launched there have been 35 billion downloads made. Apple also says that it is paid out $6.5 billion to developers since the App Store launched.

The app from Uber has been around for a while letting people order up town cars or SUVs to take them where they want to go rather than hailing a taxi. The company has announced that it’s now testing the ability to call an ice cream truck to your location in seven cities. That’s much better than calling a car. Apple has added a new category to the App Store for foodies. The new category is Food and Drink and it has apps from restaurants and a lot more. Nielsen has published its latest numbers for iPhone growth in Q2 2012. The latest numbers show that 34.3% of all smartphone users use the iPhone.

Apple has announced that it is now passed 25 billion downloads from the App Store. Whoever the lucky person was that downloaded that 25 billionth app will get a $10,000 App Store gift card. Apple has been bragging that it has created 514,000 jobs within the United States. The announcement comes after Apple has been taking heat for sending too many jobs outside the country. An interesting new app has landed on the App Store that is a daily deal app for apps called Iddicition . The app is sort of like an app of the day model that looks for the best apps around him.

We all know that most of the apps that the App Store moves are free downloads. Some developers make money off the in-app sales and DLC for these free games. During the month of November, there were a huge number of free apps downloaded. According to metrics firm Fiksu, there were 5.65 million free apps downloaded during November alone. That is up from 4.91 million free apps in October. I can only imagine how much the bandwidth that all those downloads consumed cost Apple. Comparing November 2010 to November 2011, the uploads were up 83%. Before October the number of free downloads was declining. That decline is blamed in part on the wait for the iPhone 4S by consumers. [ via SlashGear]
