iMessage bug, Google hires Apple worker, switching between the iPhone 4S and Android

Android, google, news, security February 6th, 2012

Over the last few days, there’s been a lot of talk about a flaw in iMessage that allows people to spy on your text messaging. If you want all the details on the not so easy to exploit glitch, check get it here. Google has successfully wooed Apple’s Simon Prakash come work for it, marking the highest level Apple employee to leave to work for Google yet. Prakash was Apple senior director for project integrity and at this point, it’s not clear exactly what he will be doing for Google. If you ever wondered what hard-core Android geek would think if he had to switch from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the iPhone 4S SlashGear/Android Community’s Chris Burns is doing just that. Check out what he thinks about the move here .

Apple tablet ban overturned in Au, iOS shuns ESRB ratings

Android, app, Apple, game, news November 30th, 2011

The ESRB ratings on video games for consoles and PCs all use letters to warn when a game might not be appropriate for kids. Apple and Google will not use the new mobile Application Rating system apparently essentially making it dead before it launches. I would assume that Apple and Android will have their own ratings system. Apple already puts apps into categories and if the app is too mature in theme, it simply won’t allow the app on the site. In other news, the sales ban that Apple has had on Samsung tablets in Australia has come to an end. The sales injunction in Australia has been overthrown in appeal. The court went so far to call the original sales ban “clearly wrong.” I wonder if Samsung will sue Apple for lost sales at this point.
