Kanex Sydnee charger, TomTom update, iPad at CES?

A company called Kanex has shown off a cool new charging station for iOS devices at CES 2012. The charging station is called the Sydnee and will launch this quarter and charges four devices with one cord. TomTom has unveiled an updated navigation app at CES for the iPhone and iPad. The update will be here soon and allows you to directly navigate to addresses and check-ins on invites from twitter and Facebook. Rumors are flying that Apple workers are at CES 2012 even though Apple has no official booth. Rumors also claim that the new iPad launching this year is at the show too.

Looted iPhones hit Craigslist, Scosche debuts myTrek pulse sensor, Apple Store comes to Alaska

What appears to be an entire case of looted iPhones has turned up on Craigslist. Apparently, many of the mobile carrier stores in London where riots are happening have been looted. Scosche has unveiled the myTrek pulse monitor for the iPhone. The monitor wraps around an arm and sends the pulse and other data to an app running on the iPhone. Alaska is getting its first Apple Store . There are also other new stores set to open in other cities as well as new stores in other countries.

Voltaic has a cool new case called the Spark Tablet that will charge an iPad or iPhone along with just about anything else. The case will fully charge your device from the sun in hours. Card.io mobile payments use an app to take a photo of your credit card and submit the data to websites that use their SDK. The credit card information is deleted after you submit it for payment. comScore published the numbers for iPhone data use percentage for non-computer devices. The iPhone was behind Android with 23.5% in the US but beat Android in the UK with 29.9% of traffic

IR iOS camera patent app, iShuttr accessory, shared data plan hints from AT&T

A patent app has surfaced that outlines a new Apple system that would integrate IR tech with the camera inside an iPhone. The tech would be able to stop people from taking pics of some things and give more details about things viewed though the camera like museum exhibits. The iShuttr case will turn your iPhone into a point and shoot camera. The case has a shutter button, internal battery, and a bright flash. The case is seeking funding right now on Kickstarter. AT&T has been dropping hints that shared data plans might be in the near future. AT&T CEO would not elaborate on the timeline for the shared plan.

Smartphone Coaster, Verizon iPhone will help Apple a bit, AirPlayer streaming from iOS devices

If you want a simply stand for your iPhone that will hold the smartphone in portrait or landscape modes without breaking your budget the Smartphone Coaster may be perfect. The little stand is made from stainless steel and is only about $4 each. Verizon Wireless is expected to get the iPhone next year and according to analysts, Verizon may not add as many new subscribers as Apple hopes. Many of those subscribers are also expected to be defectors from AT&T according to analysts. A software hack has opened the door for AirPlay streaming from iOS devices like the iPhone to the Mac computer. The AirPlayer hack is courtesy of one Erica Sadun form TUAW.
