iPhoDroid For Windows Delayed

news August 30th, 2010

iPhoDroid For Windows Delayed Post from: FSMdotCOM A couple of days ago we told you that iPhoDroid is finally coming to Windows and that it will be released, well… today. But, that was just an ETA, and the release was delayed. Sergio Mcfly, the dev of iPhDroid, explains why: Well, it’s almost midnight and I know tons of people are awaiting for iPhoDroid PC release. I got a big delay today caused by 64bit Windows7 architecture, once its tough to get pass over DLL running without Certificate. But the good news is: I made it through an Internal Procedure and no Installation is required. Windows XP and Vista 32bit run the App all the way up in one single click (the same as 1SHOT for Mac). So, I encourage you to be a little bit patient and I really need a few hours more to get it finished to run on fine over 64 AMD and Intel. Keep in holding everyone, A lot of dedication still being imperative and the Installer is on the way. Apology.

Auto3G: Extend Your iPhone’s Battery Life By Automatically Turning Off 3G When You Don’t Need It Post from: FSMdotCOM New day, new app in Cydia: Auto3G. Auto3G extends your battery life by automatically turning off the 3G radio ( leaving on the 2G radio ) when you lock your iPhone and automatically turning on the 3G radio when you unlock your iPhone. Resupported4: iPhone Video Out With Unsupported Cords

Cydia, news August 28th, 2010

Resupported4: iPhone Video Out With Unsupported Cords Post from: FSMdotCOM New day, new app in Cydia: Resupported4. Did you know your iPhone/iPod Touch can play videos on your TV, but Apple wants you to pay $50 to get a cable that lets you do such? Of course you do, but maybe you didn’t know you don’t need to do so. There are plenty of accessories on the market that allow you to play video out with iOS devices, but when plugged in, the device displays ‘This accessory is unsupported by iPhone’ message and refuse to play video out. Resupported4 is a safe and cheap alternative to paying the Apple tax. It enables video out through many unsupported AV cables and devices, and it does not modify system files! It also adds video playback support to many 3rd party apps, such as Hulu+, IMDB, VEVO etc. NOTES: Cable detection only works if audio is normally able to go out your dock cable Ressuported4 will not (by itself) mirror your applications on a TV. You will need DisplayOut to show your device’s screen on a TV Accessory warning messages may disappear Resupported4 will NOT enable charging with cords that do not already charge your device. That is a hardware, not a software limitation You can buy Ressuported4 from Cydia for $4.99. (10-day full trial available!)

Notcom On Future Features Of TinyUmbrella

news August 28th, 2010

Notcom On Future Features Of TinyUmbrella Post from: FSMdotCOM If you are not familiar with the tool, TinyUmbrella lets us manually save the SHSH blobs, and we have a tutorial here , so you can see how to use it. Notcom, the dev of TinyUmbrella, just announced some cool new features that he will implement in the future releases of the tool: Device History: TinyUmbrella will remember device information of devices that have connected so that saving SHSH’s for those devices in the future no longer requires you to connect the device. Save All SHSH’s Available “On-File” at Cydia: TinyUmbrella will now automatically check Cydia for ALL SHSHs for the connected device (or device from history ) TinyUmbrella will also help you detect what application is running on your computer that is taking up port 80 and will give you the option to kill that application. This should help many of you that don’t know what application may be listening on port 80 (ie. Skype) TinyUmbrella will also tell you what firmware versions you can safely downgrade or restore to whenever you connect the device (or select a device from history) TinyUmbrella will be sporting a cleaner UI based on some of the great suggestions from @chpwn (a friend and fellow chronic dev team associate) Support for PowerPC and more stable runtime for folks having problems running TinyUmbrella for odd and various reasons. Looking down the road, notcot has some big things planned for TinyUmbrella. Here are a couple of the things he’s looking at in the long term: Activation Support: I’ve started looking into the way the phone requests (and obtains) activation from apple’s servers. I’m confident I can duplicate this process but I have more investigation as the the process is incredibly complicated. Full Restore Support without iTunes: I’m looking at implementing my own complete restore mechanism. I have not decided if I’ll directly use @p0sixninja’s libirestore or whether I’ll try to do something that hasn’t been done before… ie in java We will keep you informed. Stay tuned…

BackLiter: One-Touch Control Of Your iPhone

Cydia, news August 28th, 2010

BackLiter: One-Touch Control Of Your iPhone’s Backlight Levels Post from: FSMdotCOM New day, new app in Cydia Store: BackLiter. BackLiter is a new one-touch utility app for controlling your phone’s backlight levels. If you’re the hardcore iPhone user, you try to get everything you can out of your hardware. That means keeping your screen dim when you don’t need it bright, to save battery life. But, what happens when you move outside, and the ambient light swamps your display? Or you’re in the car? And what happens, when you want to change the screen brightness quickly, and don’t want to spend the time or attention, to navigate multiple touches, and potentially a slider that’s difficult to control precisely, even when you’re sitting still? BackLiter is a new tweak from Enscand, Inc. , and it’s the simplest, most efficient backlight control imaginable. You use your device Settings to preset two brightness levels ( one dim, one bright ). Then, when you run the app, with one touch, the app toggles your screen brightness between those two levels. The app tells you what it’s doing, and then closes itself. Literally one touch. You can even set your preferences so that the app doesn’t even take the time to show you the message. It just starts, changes brightness, and quits. BackLiter’s change is temporary. When your phone’s springboard restarts, after unlocking your phon, your normal iPhone screen brightness levels will return. BackLiter supports iPhone OS 3.0 through 4.0.1 and you can buy it from Cydia Store for $0.99 via BigBoss repo…
