Smartphone Antenna Performance: iPhone 3Gs vs iPhone 4 vs Samsung Omnia II vs Nokia N97 Mini [video] Post from: FSMdotCOM Last Friday, Apple held a press conference detailing their problem and solution to the iPhone 4′s much-hyped antenna situation. They also tested the same ‘grip of death’ on other smartphones available on the market, and they got the same results as with the iPhone 4. Today Apple posts their tests on YouTube, and if you didn’t watch the conference, you can watch the vids below. More vids after the jump… iPhone 3Gs In our tests, iPhone 3GS dropped from 3 bars to 1 bar when held in a way that attenuated the signal. iPhone 4 In our tests, iPhone 4 dropped from 3 bars to 1 bar when held in a way that attenuated the signal. Samsung Omnia II In our tests, the Samsung Omnia II dropped from 4 bars to 1 bar when held in a way that attenuated the signal. Nokia N97 Mini In our tests, the Nokia N97 mini dropped from 7 bars to 2 bars when held in a way that attenuated the signal.
